The patola design is printed onto the cloth rather than woven into it, so the pattern is crisp on the front and lighter on the reverse. The zari border is woven. Mangalagiri sarees come from the weaving town of Mangalagiri in Andhra Pradesh and are known for a light, crisp drape.
